Ahead of Raksha Bandhan 2025, the Madhya Pradesh government has announced a special gift under the Ladli Behna Yojana. Over 1.27 crore women will receive ₹1,500 directly into their bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). This festive amount includes the regular ₹1,250 monthly assistance and an additional ₹250 as a Raksha Bandhan bonus.
The Ladli Behna Yojana is a major initiative aimed at empowering women financially. Initially, ₹1,000 per month was given to eligible women, which later increased to ₹1,250. Now, for the upcoming festival, the government has added an extra amount to help women celebrate with ease.
From Diwali 2025, the monthly amount will permanently increase to ₹1,500, and by 2028, the plan is to raise it to ₹3,000 per month. This shows the government’s long-term vision to strengthen women financially and support them in managing their household needs independently.
Who Can Get the Benefit?
To receive this benefit, women must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a resident of Madhya Pradesh
- Age between 21 to 60 years
- Can be married, widowed, divorced, or abandoned
- Annual family income must not exceed ₹2.5 lakh
- No family member should be an income taxpayer or a permanent government/semi-government employee

How Is the Money Transferred?
The assistance amount is transferred every month to the beneficiary’s bank account via DBT. For Raksha Bandhan 2025, the ₹1,500 will be credited before 9 August 2025. Eligible women can check their payment status through the scheme’s portal or by visiting their bank.
How to Apply?
New applicants can visit their local Gram Panchayat, Ward Office, Anganwadi Center, or Panchayat Camp Site to fill the form. Biometric verification and photo will be taken on the spot. After submitting the form, applicants will receive a receipt or reference number for tracking.
