The Government of India has made a big announcement under the PM Awas Yojana Gramin (PMAY-G) 2025, aiming to provide permanent houses to every poor family in rural areas. This time, 7 new changes have been introduced, making the scheme more transparent and impactful.
What’s New in PM Awas Yojana 2025?
In 2025, the government updated the list of eligible beneficiaries under PMAY-G. If your name is included in the new list, you will receive ₹1.20 lakh directly in your bank account. For people living in hilly or difficult areas, the amount increases to ₹1.30 lakh.
This amount is given in three installments:
- First installment for building the house foundation.
- Second for wall construction.
- Final installment after completing the roof.
Along with financial aid, beneficiaries also receive free gas connection, electricity, toilet, and clean water.
Eligibility Criteria Changed
This year, the eligibility rules have changed. Only those whose names are in the new Gram Sabha-approved list will receive the benefit. Preference is given to:
- Families living in kutcha or semi-pucca houses.
- SC/ST, widows, disabled persons, and BPL cardholders.
- People without a government job or large agricultural land.
Those owning vehicles, already having pucca houses, or holding government jobs are excluded.
How to Check Your Name in the PMAY List
You can check your name online by selecting your state, district, block, and gram panchayat on the official PMAY website. If your name is there, you’re eligible to receive the full benefit.
